In 2003, Sarah Morton, founder of Mortons Moo and mother of new owner Kirsten Henry, began making and selling ice cream in a small building next to the current 9 School Street location.  As Sarahs ice cream became popular, Mortons Moo relocated to 9 School Street to accomodate the growing business.  Unfortunately in 2008, Mortons Moo closed due to illness.  Recently, new owners Kirsten and Steve recognized that the people of Ellsworth missed the ice cream parlor and saw the potential for a fun family business.  With help from Sarah, Mortons Moo begins anew with owners Kirsten and Steve at the reins. 

At Mortons Moo our purpose is to make this a better world to live in, one delectable ice cream cone at a time.  Social responsibility is part of our daily work.  When able our wares are bought locally, we strive for all-natural and organic ingredients, our disposables are recyclable, and we constantly turn lights out after the kids.
